When the San Francisco 49ers selected Brock Purdy as the final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, he was nowhere near becoming their starting quarterback. However, injuries to the two quarterbacks above him in the pecking order presented the opportunity, and he took it with both hands, leading the 49ers to a division title and an NFC Championship Game appearance.
