These Beloved Stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age Are Still Alive And Enjoying Life In Retirement

Caren Marsh-Doll — 1919

Caren Marsh had been Judy Garland’s stand-in in some scenes in The Wizard Of Oz, a 1939 classic, and as of 2018, she and Jerry Maren are the last surviving cast members of the film.  She initiated her acting career with silent movies, but gradually, she decided on changing her career path to dancing which eventually went on to become her only love. In 1949, a plane crash almost took her away from us, but thankfully, Caren survived it with 12 of her co-passengers.

She is pretty active these days and offers her services as a dance instructor at least once a month. Caren has taken up a retirement from acting long back but seems to have a penchant for fitness, too. She was in a conjugal relationship with Bill Doll from the year 1950 till Bill left for his heavenly abode in 1979. Caren didn’t feel like entering into a marriage for the second time and we completely understand that. She has maintained herself quite well and has never felt the need to appoint a bankruptcy attorney.
