He kickstarted his acting career with The Strange Love of Martha Ivers in 1946 and went on to become a huge box office star in the 50s. The father of another Hollywood legend, Michael Douglas, Kirk had been honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The main house has 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms and was one of the nicest investments that Kirk might have made in his life. After his passing on February 2020, he left this property, among others, to his wife Anne Buydens.
