For some Hollywood stars, there’s one role of a lifetime that will catapult them to fame and fortune, helping them not only garner respect from their peers but also adoration from many fans around the world.
Such was the case of Michael Learned who played the role of Olivia Walton in The Waltons, a drama series from CBS that ran from 1972 to 1981. She was so amazing in this role that Learned won three Outstanding Lead Actress Emmy awards. Aside from that, she also won another Primetime Emmy of the same category for her role in Nurse.
These days, Learned lives in peace in California together with husband John Doherty who used to be a lawyer by profession. She doesn’t have a lot of projects lately and prefers to stay away from the spotlight, choosing to spend her remaining days in blissful retirement.
