Create a tight cluster of single-layer cherry tomatoes by stacking them tightly on a cutting board. Then place a plastic lid over the tomatoes. As you cut through the center, you should open and close the lid at the same time. Because slicing large numbers of cherry tomatoes can be time-consuming and difficult, the lid has been designed to keep them in place while you work.
